Tethered Affiliate & Referral Programme Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern participation in the Tethered Affiliate & Referral Programme (“Programme”) operated by Tethered App Ltd (“Tethered”). By applying to join, being approved, or participating in the Programme, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Application & Programme Administration

1.1 All applicants must apply through the Affiliate Portal at: https://affiliates.tetheredapp.com/login

1.2 Tethered reviews applications at its sole discretion and may approve, reject, suspend, or terminate participation without obligation to provide reasons.

1.3 The Programme operates through PushlapGrowth, and all tracking, reporting, and commission data are determined exclusively by the Affiliate Portal.

1.4 Tethered may modify, suspend, or terminate the Programme at any time.

2. Eligibility

2.1 Participants must be at least 18 years old.

2.2 All information provided must be accurate and kept up to date.

2.3 Tethered may suspend or remove participants providing false or misleading information.

3. Commission Structure

3.1 Commissions are payable only on subscriptions paid directly to Tethered via Stripe. No commissions are payable for subscriptions purchased through Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

3.2 Commission rates:

  • $5 USD per valid paid monthly subscription

  • $10 USD per valid paid annual subscription

3.3 A commission is earned only when:

a) The referred user completes the full free trial;
b) A successful payment is processed via Stripe;
c) The transaction is recorded as valid in the Affiliate Portal;
d) The sale has matured for 30 days without cancellation, refund, or chargeback.

3.4 Affiliate Portal data is the sole authoritative record for eligibility and commission calculations.

4. Payouts

4.1 All payouts are made either as a credit on your subscription account (if you are an app customer) or via PayPal only.

4.2 Payments are issued on the 1st of each month, covering commissions that have completed the 30-day eligibility window.

4.3 Tethered may withhold payments if fraud, breach, or irregular activity is suspected.

5. Legal, Regulatory & Platform Compliance

5.1 Affiliates are legally responsible for ensuring compliance with:

  • Advertising and consumer protection laws (including UK, EU, FTC, CMA, or equivalent local laws);

  • Mandatory disclosure requirements (e.g. #ad, #affiliate);

  • Platform rules for any platform used to promote Tethered (including Meta, Google, TikTok, YouTube, X/Twitter, Pinterest);

  • Any other relevant laws in their jurisdiction.

5.2 Failure to comply constitutes a breach of these Terms.

6. Permitted Marketing

Affiliates may promote Tethered using:

a) Their unique affiliate or referral link;
b) Approved Tethered-branded assets.

Affiliates must not:

  • Claim employment or official partnership with Tethered;

  • Use misleading, false, or exaggerated claims;

  • Bid on “Tethered”, “Tethered App”, or similar terms in paid search;

  • Send spam or unsolicited bulk emails;

  • Promote Tethered alongside harmful, hateful, extremist, or illegal content;

  • Fabricate reviews or create fake accounts.

7. Prohibited Conduct & Abuse

The following constitute grounds for immediate termination and forfeiture of unpaid commissions:

7.1 Fraudulent Activity

  • Fake user accounts or artificially generated traffic;

  • Bots, VPNs, automated tools, or cloaking systems;

  • Manipulation of free trials or subscription flows;

  • Attempts to interfere with tracking mechanisms.

7.2 Technical Interference

Tampering with, manipulating, or reverse-engineering PushlapGrowth or tracking infrastructure.

7.3 Reputational Damage

Associating Tethered with offensive, unlawful, harmful, or unethical content.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 All trademarks, branding, imagery, audio, and content remain the property of Tethered.

8.2 Affiliates must not alter, distort, or misuse Tethered’s intellectual property.

9. Data Protection

9.1 Affiliates must comply with the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and all applicable privacy laws.

9.2 Affiliates may not collect, store, misuse, or transfer personal data of users.

10. Limitation of Liability

10.1 Tethered, its directors, shareholders, officers, and employees shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential losses;

  • Lost revenue, profit, or opportunities;

  • System failures, downtime, tracking errors, or attribution discrepancies;

  • Affiliate actions, marketing, statements, or representations;

  • Penalties or consequences arising from legal or platform compliance failures.

10.2 Participation is at the affiliate’s own risk.

10.3 Tethered makes no guarantee of earnings or performance.

11. Indemnity

Affiliates shall indemnify Tethered against all claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and legal fees arising from:

  • Breach of these Terms;

  • Non-compliance with laws or platform rules;

  • Misrepresentation or negligent behaviour;

  • Marketing undertaken by the affiliate.

12. Termination

12.1 Tethered may terminate participation or the entire Programme at any time.

12.2 Unpaid commissions may be cancelled where the affiliate is in breach.

13. Amendments to the Agreement

13.1 Tethered may make non-material amendments without notice.

13.2 Material amendments adversely affecting affiliate benefits will be notified with 30 days’ notice (“Amendment Notice Period”) via the Affiliate Portal.

13.3 Affiliates who disagree may terminate participation during the Amendment Notice Period by written notice.

13.4 Upon termination under this clause, the affiliate is entitled only to unpaid commissions above the payout threshold, provided they are not in breach.

13.5 If the affiliate does not terminate within the Amendment Notice Period, they will be deemed to have accepted the amendments.

14. Taxation & Financial Responsibility

14.1 All commissions constitute taxable income.

14.2 Affiliates are solely responsible for declaring, reporting, and paying all applicable taxes, duties, levies, or financial obligations.

14.3 Tethered provides no tax advice and bears no responsibility for an affiliate’s tax affairs.

14.4 Tethered is not liable for penalties, fines, or losses arising from tax non-compliance.

15. Acceptance of Terms

By applying to join, being approved, or participating in the Programme, the affiliate confirms that they:

  • Have read and understood these Terms;

  • Accept all obligations and liabilities contained herein;

  • Accept full responsibility for tax and legal compliance;

  • Agree to the tracking and reporting mechanisms of PushlapGrowth;

  • Agree to Tethered’s rights to amend or terminate the Programme.

16. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

This Agreement is governed by and shall be interpreted in accordance with the laws of Scotland.

Any dispute, claim, or legal proceedings arising out of or relating to this Agreement shall be brought exclusively before the courts of Scotland.

Affiliates irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
